Most people are familiar with the story of the Pilgrims and the hardships they faced, as well as the time they set aside for celebration and giving of thanks which we now celebrate as Thanksgiving. Few are aware of the document written by the Pilgrims that served as the constitution for their colony. It is a great document that reveals the reason for the Pilgrim’s journey and their plans for the New World. As you take time to give thanks for all the wonderful things in your life, and for our great nation, keep in mind the heritage our nation was founded upon as exemplified in the Mayflower Compact:

In the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the Faith, etc.
Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience.
In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, 1620

Many people have asked about how they should vote in the upcoming election seeing as there is much more on the ballot than just the presidential election. We also have 6 state questions, 2 Tulsa County propositions, and many judges to vote to retain or not. While different people will both agree and disagree with these suggestions, they are simply suggestions. You must ultimately decide how to cast your ballot, and this information is provided so that you can be better informed when you vote. A good rule of thumb when in doubt is to simply vote no. One of our lesser-known Presidents often said he would rather be known for the legislation that he opposed, than for more legislation being passed and further burdening the people. With that in mind here is some information to help you be informed as you go to vote:

Tulsa County “Vision2″ Propostions 1 & 2: vote NO

While these items all sound good, many problems have surfaced regarding these propositions. Most of the planning was done behind closed doors and public input was only accepted after it was decided to be put on the ballot. The language for these propositions also provides no guarantees. There is no guarantee that the money used in Prop 1 will save any of the jobs that are being threatened as possibly leaving, and there is no guarantee that the money pledged in Prop 2 will go to any of the suggested improvements. Nathan has publicly opposed Vision2 for these and many more reasons, and encourages you to vote NO.

State Questions

Two organizations have released information regarding the State Questions that can be viewed at the following links:

http://www.ok-safe.com/files/documents/1/2012_OK-SAFE_State_Questions_CHART_Final.pdf

http://www.ocpathink.org/articles/2000

Many conservative groups disagree on how to vote for these state questions. For instance, with SQ762, it would be good to relieve the burden of paroles from the Governor, as most states have done, but it is always best to have someone that is elected to be ultimately accountable. The main reason for disagreements on these questions is that they each have pros and cons to them, and even if the pros currently outweigh the cons, there is potential down the line for it to change for the worse. Each of these look to be a step in the right direction, but there are errors that will need to be fixed down the line if they are passed now as currently written.

Judges
There are two judges known to be Constitutionalists that need to be retained, they are Judge Lewis and Judge Buettner. Vote TO RETAIN these judges and not to retain all others.

We’ve been inundated with phone calls, emails, facebook messages, text messages and more from all over the U.S. and the world congratulating us on this victory. It is an honor and a privilege to serve others, and I have already started studying, preparing, and meeting with others to begin the process and be fully prepared to start in mid-November. Thank you all for all you have done, for standing with us, praying for us, and helping us to accomplish this great victory for the people of Oklahoma. I look forward to serving and representing you and accomplishing great things for the state of Oklahoma and our nation.

We are planning TWO HUGE Volunteer Days on August 16th and 18th. We plan on blanketing Senate District 33 with door knocking, lit drops, phone calls, signs and whatever other way we can get our message of limited Republican values out to the voters. With the clock ticking down to the runoff election we need all hands on deck and boots on the ground. If you can volunteer a few hours on either or both days, it will make a huge impact in this race. We have heard from many voters that they will be voting for Nathan just because we took the time knocked on their door or gave them a call instead of just filling up their mailbox. This campaign is about personal communication from Nathan and actual grassroots supporters taking the time to talk to the voters. Nathan has always said he is doing this to represent the people. Lets show him that the people are ready to do our part.

You can call us at (918) 615-2335 or send us a message at info@nathandahm.com to let us know when you can help.

Your donation of $10 will help us reach 20 houses, or a donation of $50 will help us reach 100 households with a potential of up to 200 voters!

As you know, we scored a huge win on primary night by advancing to the run-off election on August 28th. While we didn’t win the primary outright, it was still a great victory for us as our main opponent outspent us almost 3 to 1 and only captured 124 more votes. Even with loaning his own campaign $19,000 he was not able to buy the election as he had planned. This provides us with a great opportunity to capture this seat and score a victory for We the People in the upcoming run-off election.

We cannot do it alone, so we once again ask for you to join with us and show your support. The opposition can continue to loan thousands of dollars to his own campaign, but we will continue to rely on grassroots support from various donors like you. In fact, our average donation has been $30 so far this election cycle.

So I ask that each of you take the time right now to visit the donation page by clicking here and making a donation of at least $3, $5, or $10. Each yard sign costs approximately $1.75, so your donation of just $3.50 can help us plant two signs in people’s yards. We will also send out mailers which cost about $0.50 a piece. Your donation of $10 will help us reach 20 houses, or a donation of $50 will help us reach 100 households with a potential of up to 200 voters! No donation is too small, and every amount is greatly appreciated. Please donate at least $3, $5, or $10 now.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to protect the 10th Amendment, serve the People, and win Round 2 of this election to better accomplish these goals.

For the People,
Nathan Dahm

Psst…After you’ve made your donation of $3, $5, $10 or more, would you consider personally contacting three family members or close friends and asking them to do the same? Many hands makes for light work, and the more people that chip in, the more voters we can reach with our message of liberty.

Today we celebrate our Independence Day! The day when our forefathers declared they wouldn’t go silently into the night, but we would take a stand for freedom and liberty; and a stand against tyranny. Take time today to read the Declaration of Independence. Refresh yourself with the eloquent language used to describe the foundation that was laid for our nation. A foundation based on the self-evident truths that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights- among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The Declaration is the foundation for the fact that governments are instituted among men to defend these rights. Governments are not created to run our lives, but their sole purpose is to protect our self-evident, God-given, Constitutionally-protected rights. Rights like freedom of worship and religion, freedom of speech, right to self defense, trial by jury, and many other enumerated rights, as well as certain rights that are not expressly listed in the founding documents.

The Declaration of Independence also provides a call for new leadership when necessary: “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” Under our system of government, we have the chance at the ballot box to throw out those who are pursuing a long train of abuses and usurpations, and to instead provide new Guards for our future security. Those currently in office are pursuing invariably the same Object of absolute Despotism. They are violating the very Constitution that they have sworn an oath to uphold and defend; and the only way to get government back to serving the people and defending our rights rather than violating them is to elect new leadership to stand Guard for our security.

We scored a huge victory at the primary election on June 26th. The other candidate moving on to the run-off election on August 28th out spent us almost 3-to-1 and only received 124 more votes than we did. This was a huge win for our campaign, a win for the grassroots gong against the money machine trying to buy the election, and a win for the people of Oklahoma. It isn’t over yet. The stage has been set for round two and we are already gaining steam for the August 28th run-off election. We’ve had new volunteers contact us to help out, more donations are already coming in, and people are fired up to send a message that we will no longer accept this long train of abuses and usurpations of our rights and freedoms, but we will instead stand together with those running to serve as Guards for our future security.

The Founders signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that it meant they would be up against the full force and might of the British Empire. Yet, they mutually pledged to each other their lives, their fortune, and their sacred honor. Those of us involved in this campaign have given much of our lives to serving others, we’ve given of our fortunes- large and small alike, and we’ve sacrificed our sacred honor through the mud slinging, lies, falsehoods, and attacks launched by others. And we’ve stood strong. We’ve stayed in the fight. And we will continue to stand strong, to stand for what is right, and to work tirelessly to get new Guards elected for our future security. August 28th is the run-off election and one of our last chances to get a strong servant of We the People into the Oklahoma State Senate. Will you stand with us? Click one of the links below to volunteer or to donate. And you can always forward this email to family and friends, direct them to our website, keep us in your prayers, and help in many other ways as we stand strong and move forward to our victory in the August 28th run-off. Until then, thank you for those who have stood with us, those who are continuing to do so, and to all those throughout the history of our great nation that have paid the supreme sacrifice so that others may be free and have a Happy Independence Day!

Most people don’t celebrate Flag Day. That may be because the flag means different things to different people- to some it is a sign of honor, to others a sign of freedom, and to children in our schools it is often just a symbol to which they pledge.

Yet in the pledge of allegiance, it isn’t just to the flag that they are pledging, but to “the Republic for which it stands”. Our flag means many things to many people, but it is foremost a sign of the Republic created by our Constitution, uniting the various independent American States across our continent. It is a sign of unity, Constitutional government, and a beacon of freedom to all mankind.
