As you take time this weekend with family and friends, please remember the reason for Memorial Day is more than just bbq and the beginning of summer. It is a time to honor all those who have given and sacrificed for our freedoms.
While you take time over the weekend and enjoy your cook-outs and bbq meals, think of someone who you personally know that has sacrificed and find time to specifically seek them out and thank them in person for their service.
Sacrificing for others and fighting for freedoms is one of the bedrocks that made our nation great and it will continue to keep our going in the right direction. So enjoy the time off and celebrate over the weekend; but as you think of those who have given so much for you, think of at least one way in which you can give back to others as well. And in so doing, we can make every day a day of remembrance and a memorial to those who gave their all.
